WADU Core programmes:
Evangelism: At the heart of all WADU programmes is the desire to proclaim the gospel among the Batwa communities. WADU is committed to ensuring that many Batwa hear the gospel in a language and through an approach that resonates most with them.
Batwa children’s education: WADU supports nearly 200 Batwa children from 9 different communities in partnership with government aided primary schools in Kabale and Rubanda districts. This involves provision of daily meals, all school equipment and uniform.
Church and community outreach: WADU visits all the Batwa communities regularly with Centre days, field visits, retreats, festival celebrations. These allow essential regular health interventions, resulting in gradual improvements in health and welfare. They also provide financial relief to families in distress and training in agricultural practices and animal husbandry.
Child sponsorship for primary and secondary education: The team oversees ‘Rising Stars’, a valuable programme of educational sponsorship. You can find out more on the sponsorship page.
